This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
Here is what I call a completed Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Ring and an R2 Unit for good measure. I'd love to hear some constructive critiques or some even more constructive praise.
Both look nicely modelled but the texturing could do with some more work The R2 unit has some UV seams that I can see and the dirt texture looks a little spread out evenly over the models. You could bake out a occlusion texture and use a layer mask in photoshop to create a starting point for the dirt. Also get some references of the models to see how the textured them................dave
Admittedly, Texture mapping and unwrapping UV's aren't the thing I'm best at, but I'm going to take the suggestions above into consideration (research them) and apply them to my next model.
