Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
Whenever I try to export geometry from Maya into a .mi file, the file exported is only a few hundred bytes in size and nothing appears when I render the file in Mental Ray using render proxies.
These are the settings that I'm currently using :
