How to model a Revolverdrum

Hello,

I want to model this Drum

And I came so far, but I'm still dissatisfied of how I modeled it. There have to be an easier way I think.

There are lots of ways to do this. Booleans would be the fastest way. The better way would be a slow process of adding, moving, deleting and adding geo.

I think Booleans is not good way because you always have unclean holes. Ayway, if you want you can write a step by step instruction. user added image

I think you should work at a lower resolution. The problem you are having is you are getting too dense too soon and then you are stuck with these crisp edges.

I use booleans all the time and never have unclean holes user added image you just know how and when to use them
