Wedge Face Help

I'm trying to use the function Edit Mesh > Wedge Face and that I need to select a face and an edge. However, whenever I changed to select an edge, the face gets deselected. I tried holding right mouse and select "Edge" after selecting a face, but the face still gets deselected. Can someone help me? Thanks!

Hold down the shift key and you can click and add more components/objects to the selection list.

Well, it's actually by the time I select another component, the previous component gets deselected. :/

Hold down the right hand mouse button like you are going to select an edge, vertice, or face etc. but instead select multi. This lets you select any of the three types and then just hold shift to select multiple things.

Thanks. Always forget that Multi Select even exists. I use it so rarely, I was lost for like an hour trying to figure this one out. =/ Feel very sheepish now. lol.
