Maya can't find mentalray

so im working with xgen right now, and for me to export an .arc object i get an error, the scripteditor tells me that it didnt find mentalray so it canceled the operation (which is quite strange, because i dont see how mental ray has anything to do with xgen if im not using it for my project), anyhow ive known that mental ray has been unable for me to work since i got maya 2015, but im mostly using arnold so it doesnt matter. well now it does i guess.

I have downloaded mentalray for maya 2015 from the autodesk website, and maya finds the plugin at window - preferences - plugin manager, and it's in the right place, since my mentalray for maya 2014 is at the same place (C:\Program Files\Autodesk) , allthough when i try to tick the mentalray i get this error, the tick box remains unticked
