Gracphics card choice

Hi everyone,

This is my first post here, and I love this place so far user added image

It's not much of an issue but more of an enquiry; I have Maya 2015 and everything -so far, as I am still a noob- is going great, except for when I put a camera in a scene, even an empty scene, and move it around then deselect and re-select the camera again, Maya 2015 just simply crashes completely with no error messages.

I posted this issue in Autodesk forum, and an Autodesk employee said that the issue can be in the graphics card and that it should be up to date and supported.
My graphics card is up to date, but it is not in the list in the link below:
https://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...anuf=all&opt=1

Now, based on the specs of my computer below, can you please assist me in choosing the right graphics card that I should buy?:
Ram: 8GB DDR3
Processor: AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30 GHz
OS: Windows 8 64-bit, x64-based processor
My current graphics card: AMD Radeon HD6700

My budget is around 2000 to 2500 Egyptian pounds which is approximately 285 to 357 US Dollars.

I really appreciate your help!

Thanks,
Kareem

All the best

Hi Dave,

Thanks a lot for replying!

Do you think that this one will be compatible with my processor and also will be good enough to deal with Mudbox and After Effects and maybe some day 3ds Max?

P.S, it's ok I use non Egyptian websites more than Egyptian ones user added image

Thanks,
Kareem

There will be no problem with the processor, you'll just need a free PCIe slot on the motherboard which i assume you have your current gfx card plugged in, so that should be no problem.

I don't work in mudbox so you might want to check. It works fine in zbrush so... Should be no problem in max.

If you work with vray the card does vray rt just fine in fact i have two of them in one box in SLI and it works great with vray.

I've run the card through Maya, zbrush, marvelous designer, nuke, Mari, aftereffects and i've been pretty pleased especial as it's not a expensive card i'm happy with it.

All the best
Dave
