Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Thinking going back to 3D

Hello everyone

I've been away from 3D since 2007 using Maya 6 back then.

I still have tutorial books from then which I'm thinking using them to practice again.

I already have Maya 2014 student, but I wonder if the Maya 6 book will still be used with Maya 2014?

It can be. The process is the same, but a lot of tools were renamed and deleted/added and changed, so you'll have to google stuff in this manner "split polygon tool maya 2012".

A lot of great tuts with new version of maya, check them out. Cheers.

There have been quite a few changes since version 6, some of the workflows have become less painful so you might want to update the training.
