Snap To Live Surface And Woork Planes

Hi,

I want to create a plane that acts as a new grid. So that I can draw new primitives on that plane etc. Here is a screenshot that shows closest I get. I created a construction plane then made it live and turned snap to live surface option on. Problem with that is when I draw a plane it is indeed on the plane but it is not aligned with plane.

Please help me out. Thank you.

I have seen this question come up several times on various maya forums but have never seen a simple solution.

Here is a workaround.

I believe you should be able to do this more efficiently by aligning a camera to the construction planes object axis. But I will have to experiment with that when I have more time. In the mean time I hope this workaround will help you out.
