Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

chain tutorial - more links/frames on ends

Hello,

I'm adapting the chain tutorial to a project I'm working on so I didn't draw the curve the same. My curve looks like a wide "U" and I've attached the link using 100 frames. When I set everything up as far as rotation and all and create the snapshot the rotation is off. If I watch the link frame by frame the beginning and ends of the curve have more frames, the links are more condensed, than the middle of the curve. I rebuilt the curve as was described and the edit points are equally spaced. Any suggestions? thanks in advance!

The attached photo is without the rotation to show how the links are spaced at the beginning.

You need to make sure the key tangents are linear, and not auto or "ease in, ease out". Go into the graph editor, select the keys, and choose tangents > linear.

Thank you! I'll give it a try.
