Did anyone experience maya crashing when nHair starts animate? Even better did anyone find the cause and solution?

I am working on the tutorial called "Hybrid Rigging - Robot Volume 02" the video is "16: Dynamic wires with nHair "

I can get the sim to fall and relax, but as soon as I try to animate the character or place Mocap onto it and then play it, my Maya crashes.

What could be causing this. Can anyone suggest any tweaks I could make to solve this?
