I think it looks good, but if you plan on animating this character, then I would work more on the edgeloops.

Keep up the good workuser added image

fix

Hey man, looks good. If you have unlimited use fur. If you have complete use paint fx. I have fixed all your edges. this should give a lot better look.

Heres a guide:
5+ sides = BAD!
4 sides = GOOD!
3 sides = BAD! (Except for low poly games)

Hope this helps,

I think it has to do with animation and rendering which could create folds and unwanted creases when you have 5 sided poly's. Also 3 sided poly's can be bad but if you couldn't rebuild the area that has a 5 sided poly to be all 4 sided, then breaking a "5 sided" poly into 1 "4 sided" and 1 "3 sided" poly would be better than having that 1 "5 sided" poly. In my opinion it can be really hard figuring out how to split a 5 sided poly into 2 "4 sided" polys. Meaning sometimes it can be as simple as changing the direction of how the continuity of the edge loop flows along its path but then other times changing the direction of an edge loops continuity can make things worse then having a 3 sided poly.

before you start with the fur, go back and optimise the mesh, try get as many quads as possible, if you dont it will become a bad habit and you will always end up with an untidy mesh regardless if it will be animated or not remeber mesh is one letter away from mess.

You want quads because when you smooth it, you will get better results.

also to add on, considering a I am a shockwave freak and if anyone is inrterested, shockwave doesn't even render 5 sided polys correctly at times. I had this problem with using another 3d App, called Animation Master, which uses spline patch modeling which it is leagal to have 5 sided patches. Though once you use the plug-in that converts the patches to polys and import it to shockwave, some of the polys had holes, and others looked liked the geometry got folded. It was a real nightmare.
