cool

Nice one man, just a quick question about the fred sneak cycle on your site, how did you animate his cloak? was it keyed or some sort of cloth dynamics?

Keep up the good work!

all the cloth is hand animated.
We used three strings of bones for the secondary characters like fred, with 4 joints in each chain, and on harry we have 4 strings with six bones each.
We evaluated dynamic cloth, but it didn't look right, so we bit the bullet and hand animated.

In the end it gave us the best result, but it doubled the animation time.

Cool

Wow, I bet it doubled animation time!!!!, Do you know of any tutorials for techniques on animating cloth? I'm stuck with a similar problem at this very moment?

I think using bones is probably the easiest way, unless you have time to get stuck in with dynamic cloth

What we did, was constrain a cube to the character's bones by location, then constrain the orient of the bone to the cube.

Then when you create animation you focus on C curves and S curves, and the cape flows!

Personally i like to simplify when ever possible.
For more resolution you simply add more bones!
