Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Q Shortcut ?

Well , not so much a newbie question - but I can't restore my Q shortcut

I mean I did - but when I press the Q - it will not restore my selection mode.

Can someone tell me where to find the command in the huge commands list

thanks

BTW another related question - what is the difference between the Y and G shortcuts ....

Hello, Nirsul

When I checked for the Y key, it got listed as NonSacredTool. I don´t know what that means, but it sure is different from the RepeatLast action the G key is mapped to. Which would suggest you´ve been playing a lot with the HotKey Editor. user added image

In any case regarding your trouble with the Q key, check the pic for the command you need. Remember to map the SelectMaskToolMarkingMenuPopDown command to the G key release.

Hope this helps,

ah the infamous Y and G user added image
what Y does it ACTIVATE the last TOOL you used (for example paint fur attribute)
what G does is REDO the last ACTION that you did (eg. subdivide)

i believe that is correct
