Reflection problem...

i have been having this problem for quite a while now... for showing you i made this simply render... why are the reflections black????

help!!!

Could it be that the number of rays is too few?

now how could i fix that... i have seen the "number of rays" in many places not sure which one user added image

What are the values you are using? or send me the file to find the problem, if you want user added image

there is only one place you need to adjust that - in your render globals. and if you happen to messed with the settings anywhere else, you should know where you played with it - and higher the rays as well. according to your scene, 10 ray might be just enough - but go higher and set them to 12, especially if you use refraction as well

i use refraction.. will try it,,, thanx for the help,,, i will try building the scene up from scratch, as it is only a simply scene,,, thanx

Could it be that its refracting that LARGE black whole on the left? user added image

That is the refraction with inadequate value of refraction limit in Material>Raytrace options or Refraction (rays) in Raytracing section of Render Globals. It is not reflection's responsible.

Can Anyone here post a glass shader for Mray ( i meen realistic glass) and refraction, reflection settings?
