Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Joining Polygons

How do you join 2 polygon surfaces, like 2 cubes, so that they become 1 surface?

yup Polygons>Combine

u might also want to merge vertices or edges in order to cover any unsightly seams

99% of the time the way to chose is to do

polygons > Combine
open the surfaces by deleting faces
then merge the edges and vertices on the polys..

This gives much more control and a lot prettier surfaces

100% agree with that.. i used to use booleans but now i lothe them. I guess its exactly the same if you use union and the mesh's arnt touching .. but then again... why take the risk... polygons>combine =D

Another thing to do is merge multiple vertices. Or is that what the rest of you all meant.
