Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Hey thats pretty cool.

I have no experience at all using efftects. But if I was to go ahead and try something, maybe you could create the actual obect first. Then apply fire to the entire surface with different strengths. Then hiding the object, but leaving behind the fire. Then maybe creating a wind effect.

I don't know. Just my thoughts. I haven't gotten as far as effects. Not quite ready for it.

Create either:

*Create a curve, and rebuild it so it has lots of evenly spaced cv's.
Then make that curve an emitter for the fire preset effect.

or

* Create, and animate your curve. (does not need to have lots of cv's)
Then apply a PaintFX brush to it, and tweak the brushuser added image
