creating a see through mesh?

okies im creating a bass guitar amp but im not sure how to go about creating the covering of the speakers.

I have created a cabinet with the speakers in it and need to put the mesh over the speakers..

however i want to be able to see the speakers pretty clearly through the mesh but at the same time have a definate closed off look...

any ideas?

cheers Vamps

Just lay out a bunch of dark hexagons evenly on a 50% gray canvas and apply it to the transparency node of your texture.

Its all manual as far as I know. In photoshop it shouldnt be too hard to create the pattern you want.
