Importing Illustrator file ???

Hi!
I like to create a 3d logo. I draw the logo in illustrator, save it as an version 7 *.ai-file and then import it into maya. Then I see the curves. How can I now work wit this curves and extrude them?

I upload the scene file, becuase I just don't get it. I tried it with e the surfaces--> bevel option, but the result doesn't look as I want it to look. Maybe someone of you knows how to do it and can make it for me.

Try using bevelPlus in the surfaces menu and select each letter one at a time. For letters with holes like "B" or "e" shift-select the outer then inner curve. You'll have to play in the channelbox after you create the bevel to get the type you want or in the bevelplus option box when you initially create the surfaces.

Well, it was integrated in 4.5 but was originally a separate plug-in for 4.0. If you go to the revamped Alias' site and log on to the community downloads section, you can find it in the maya plugins area.
