Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Maya-Linux help

Hi folks,
I’ve got Maya on Linux operating system. The problem is: in steed of using Alt+Mouse Button I have to use Shift+Alt+Mouse Button.
Can anyone tell me how to set to default function of Maya (Alt+Mouse Button).
It’s because of Linux or it’s because of Maya settings???

Thanks in advance.

Hi, there!

Maybe this will help:

KDE 3.0

1. Open the KDE Control Center.
2. Select Look & Feel and then select Window Behavior.
3. To navigate the windows without clicking each one to set its focus, open the Focus tab and:
* Select Focus follows mouse from the Focus policy pull-down menu.
* Turn off Click Raise.
4. To use the Alt + Left Button and Alt + Middle Button keystroke combinations for Maya's camera tools, open the Actions tab and:

* In the Inactive Inner Window section, select Left Button > Activate and pass Click.
* In the Inner window, title bar and frame section, select Modifier Key > Alt from the pull-down menu for both keystroke combinations. Set the remaining buttons to nothing.

5. Click Apply and close the Control Center.

Gnome/Sawfish

1. Click the Gnome control center (tool box icon).
2. Select Window Manager in the left pane.
3. Select Sawfish, and then click the Run Configuration Tool for Sawfish button.
4. In the Sawfish Configuration window, select Bindings in the left panel.
5. In the right panel, change the context from Global to Window.
6. Change the key commands for the commands Move window Interactively and Popup window menu to something other than M-buttonX-ClickX (for example, you could set one to the F11 key and one to the F10 key).
7. Select Sawfish, and then click the Run the Configuration Tool for Sawfish button. The Sawfish Configuration window opens.
8. Select Focus in the left pane, then select enter-exit from the pull-down menu for When does the mouse pointer affect the input focus.
9. Click OK and close the Control Center.
