I have a light linking question. user added image
I want to unlink my paint fx stroke (blowing grass) from a directional light but can't seem to find the option to do it, maybe it's not done from the light/object linking box?

oh I'm sure theres is a way, even with a script or something that has to do with breaking the link from the light to the grass. I know it's difficult but I'm sure theres an answer somewhere out there. this forum has a huge collective intelligence

I'll keep trying but anything hints or tips or solutions would be great!

If you really need it badly, you might just try rendering the PFX as a different layer and compositing in another program.

For light linking you have to go to Window>relationship editor>Light linking>light centric. You will have 2 panels one with lights on the left and one with geomerty affected by the lights on the right.

IF you dont want a light to hit certain objects just deselect them on the right side.
