Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.
I know this isn't the greatest place to ask, what with it being a Maya community and all, but does anyone know how to use photoshop to paint color into a 2d ink drawing in such a way that the color stays behind the black lines? in other words, does anyone know how to paint in such a way that the color is behind the ink yet in front of the white part of the paper? can it be done with layers? can it be done at all? thanks a lot.
do you still want that step by step or did mike give you all you needed?
btw what do you think of the drawing, as i'm a complete noobie at drawing and have only started in the past month or 2. It's not an origonal character but i drew it by hand then used photoshop to clean it up and color it.
O, ckyuk, forgot to read te rest of your post! sorry! it's really good, especially for a newbie. the one suggestion I would make would be to make her skin's highlights a lighter skin tone rather than white- it looks funny. other rhan that, very good!
