color of selection: pink vs. green

Hello!! user added image

Generally when I select an object from the outliner or directly in the work area, its wireframe becomes green, which indicates it has been selected, right?

But sometimes when I select something from the Outliner, the selected object's wireframe becomes pink in the work area!

Why is that?

Thanx a lot!!

Daniel

Its to do with the history. Lets say I have two objects and I boolean them and the result is a third object. With the history on the two starting objects, that are now dissapeared into the third, will still be displayed in the outliner.

If you select the third object, it turns green. If you select one of the first two objects, they turn pink as they are now linked via the third objects history. You can edit the components of the first two objects, but you can still move them around etc and change the third object as a result. The pink selection colour indiscates that the objects are linked.

Also, if an object is in Template mode, if it is selected in the outliner, the wireframe will be pink.

Maybe we're just talking about the same color, but when I select history objects like you describe, Icarus, the color that displays is rather purple.

Might just be a hue thing on different monitors.

Mines a pinkish purple, more pink than purple.
