Help a newbie out...

Ok so i really want to start modeling more so im going to follow the subaru Car modeling tutorial

I know my basic Maya (I read through the Mya 4.5 Funadmentals book and done everything)...

So im on my first step and am already stuck, how does he draw those red curves, is it an EP curve tool, that is just in a layer that is red, im sorta confused here so help me out... i will have many simple questions like these so if any of you have AIM i would greatly appreciate it if i could get your S/n's. Thanks!

EP or CV Curve Tool works fine. I use CV myself.
