Armor help

Hey everyone, I am pretty new to animating. I've done quite a bit of modeling in Maya, but I want to animate a character I've made.

May character is a cartoon knight, what I want to know is how do I make the armor on the knight move as I move the skeleton without it bending. I know this may be a dumb question, but I thank anyone who is willing to give any advice.

you can use a ridged bind. bind each peace to only one bone. Or just group the geo under that joint that you want it to fallow. one problem with this is IF you want loose fitting armor that will hang or slide around any on the character, this will not allow for that.. to animate loose fitting armor like that I think it would be best to use dynamic's along with animation constraints. What would be needed will vary on the type of movement, what is the design of each kind of peace of the armor, and where it is on the body.
