This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

I think the scalp area is a little too wide.

lol, I liked the 'French' comment...

I think the model is awesome. I can't wait to see the finished hair, though, because it detracts a bit from the overall look, as it stands now. I know it's not finished, but I wanna see how you pull that hair style off with the look of the rest of the model.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the comments...

starjsjswars: Its going to get more color variation as Ive alredy stated, Im not happy with it yet either

echo red: I still need to paint in those areas on the scalp itself, as with the front hairline too

erictacti: It shouldnt be too long now until I get it finished, as I said previous, more color required...

Cheers to all

Incredible Jay!

The surface detail around the jaw is just great. I keep half-expecting him to come off pause and start moving.

Does it for me.

Dude, Looks great!:attn:

You got the hair color right on for his age and fyi that is an awesome texture.

But how did you do the transparency maps? I am new to textureing so is there like an img or somthing how you did it? or do you have a tut that you used? thanks alot.

Thanks Guys

I didnt use transparency maps in the end, this is Maya paint FX hair.

But for transparency maps you basically create an Alpha channel of the parts you want invisible when you render, so anything black on the Alpha is transparent and anything white is visible. You can either save it as a separate file or all as a single file in 32bit.
