This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

babyduck.. nice modelin' man.. keep it up!

oh no, that means you are not satisfied with the model would like me to add tons and tons of detail. :p but i wanted to concentrate on texturing as i have not the slightest idea on how to translate brain to maya. and the only thing that will change the model will be bump and displacement (if any).

but i have a problem: i tried make subd paintable, maya does not complain, but it wont let me paint paintfx on the surfaceuser added image with polys it complains, with nurbs no complain, but the nurbs work, subd does notuser added image

SUBD

SubD's are always a problem to texture.....and PFX and Poly the same...I mostly model with nurbs ('cause my computers are too slow to work liquid with Subdivision Surfaces).....

Therefore you have to search for Workarounds...

Very Interesting!
I'd like to see more of this model. I like the overall design, in some way it is appealing to my senses.

It's like a bug/elephant.

Hello, All

Jesus: Great entry, It shows a certain bulkyness I certainly like a lot. Keep on it. user added image

dave_baer: Excellent entry, I believe this one alongside Bulletproof´s one are going to be certainly dificult to beat up for you guys competing on the normal category. However, I remember some guys used to say "It ain´t over till it is over" so keep on it guys. Don´t despair. user added image
About your entry dave since it´s your own work I believe it´s a valid entry, although I´m expecting it to be developed, so keep on it. Don´t leave it a show and tell. user added image
By the way: I liked a lot that model you made about that Doug Chiang design, the little mech. It was yours right? Excellent looking, did you finally rig the hidraulics?

-all entries updated-

**EDIT**: Sadly Mr. dave Baer isn´t going to participate in the competition, however I do recommend (and that´s a must) paying a visit to his excellent WIP project since it actually serves as a great resource. Look at the way he uses hidraulics and stuff, and you´ll get the whole idea behind this month´s competition.
His Project can be seen HERE
