This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Well I do some sketches depending on what i'm not to clear on in my mind. For the devil chick I drew a side and front view of the haed, the body I created as I go. The alien was a full side view sketches, you can go to this page to see it https://forum.simplymaya.com/showthre...5&pagenumber=3
The guy or hero was mostly a model as I go one, I did a few sketches for the haed gear. The robot I sketches a side view of the upper body, which you can see here on this page https://forum.simplymaya.com/showthre...5&pagenumber=6
Background I did a few sketches, not much, I will be doing some really nice drawings of background scene when i'm done with all the characters, I want it to look really cool, after al it is a strange world
Well I just got home, so i'm going to do some more work on the devil chick, i'll have some update tonight, maybe do some more on the robot
hi dude!
Finally im back from London...
Very nice work on cell shading you got there!but to me https://forums.simplymaya.com/showthr...&pagenumber=13
looks much more as cell shading cartoon look...i would like to use this for my Picollo ....you seem to prefer a more cg-rendered 3d look...Its a mix of both-cell shading and 3d look.
finally i find on the last image the knee isnt bending 100% precisely...it looks a bit wrong....
but the rest is very cool!maybe you should add some eyes or so to the female cause they look so empty.
i have 2 questions on the shader.
1.did you found that steps and how they work out on your self?
2. if yes could you plz explain what every step does...or better where you got that info about shader etc.?
If you want that anime toon look just use the ramp shader (3 colors, from light to dark).
About how I learn of the mental ray toon style, was from many sites, I just started playing around with the settings tell I liked it. There is one thread over at cgtalk that explains well on this mental ray setup. I'll post it later, i'm a little busy moveing today.
Could you post a simply step by step of your setting that you say is crashing maya.
I'll be back on in a few hous to see if you post your setting, and i'll try to help.
Vedic how long have you been using Maya? I just read this thread from start to finish today and in just the time from start to finish of this thread your quality (which was good to begin with) skyrocketed....truly cannot wait to see more of this project....i loved the realistic renders you did early on and was sceptical about the cartoon renders at first but the 'anime' look you ended up with especially in that qt animation was amazing. I've been buried in trainings myself and hope one of these days ill be able to post some of my works...
this weekend i spent most of time on maya tut's and some practice with Photoshop/Corel Paint/and some real life scetching....its been years since Ive done it and only recently decided to go all out....
