This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
Hey, what a gorgeous example of sub-D modeling, and what a nice bloated thread, I wish you'd a posted a few more wire-frames of the earlier stages. But this give me a lot of inspiration to keep learning Maya.
Yes I think your right Bullet the German one must have been more durable, djwaterman I dont us sud-Ds most of it I use the 3 button to smooth I could change that to smooth polygons but I find it harder to change thing quickly if I do that, bloated long winded might be a better word.........LOL.......I stall have some of the earlier models if I get time I will see if I can get some wire shot..........dave
Thanks for those. Sub-D is just a term I use for smoothing, I avoid Maya's Sub-D's cos they do something a little different than in other programs, but that's the term I use when I talk about smoothed polygons (3 key).
I guess one thing that always threw me a little when I tried learning Maya in the past was the Nurbs to Sub-D to Polygon workflow, it took a bit of time to realize you don't have to do it that way. This tank is a perfect example of that.
The pics show the way you've blocked out shapes to see how you will get the mesh to align, before merging it all together, a great technique.

As the church is larger than I first had in mind I will have to add a few more bits to pad it out, first one will be the Steyr RSO/01 german tractor (looks easy to model)that with a fuel dump and the tank might be enough............dave
Yes Bullet it is a nice little truck with tracks, started on the front bit, I think this is going to be as close that I get to making a car model................dave
