The legs could be somewhat longer and broader at the bottom...but it could just be me. Also, I think the nuzzle/mouth area could be a little more longer and wider as well. The body looks good though, I think just the head and legs need a little more work. Also, the eyes seem too high up on the face vertically to me...something with them does not seem quite right. Great progress so far though! You sure do work fast! Maybe try looking at some horse photos for reference. user added image

Thx a lot CGPMaya84, what you said is right.
Anyhow, I've mapped the UV's on the legs...that took a lot of time =))
I'm not really fast, I just spent my whole weekend doing this model.

Jack, as I said. love to some one else doing horses also. pretty good in the body. and I can apriceat the work you have put in and are on UV's now. Thoughs are never eazy. At least it seams to me. But maybe for latter, bigest thing that stands out to me is the neck being to thick.

Can't wait to see this horse in among the tumb stones.. etc..

I'm thinking more of a mausoleum... A fight between a paladin and a dark rider... snapshot the moment the paladin is being hit.

Well, here are the UVs. The texture will be 2048x2048, so it's a huge file =)) They are here.

basic textured thing - painted in Photoshop. Not exactly the look I wanted to give it, but it has only taken 3-4 hours =))

An update. THe texture on the saddle is not quite exactly what I wanted it to be, but close. Supposed to be metal.

PLEASE give me CC! I get "looks great" all the time on my English essays, but somehow I never(!) get A's! So, please comment (constructively)

Biggest thing for me is the horse's color... I can barely see the horse. I see its outline of course, but I can't see the horse itself because it's pretty much black.

Maybe lighting will help when you get that far.

you are right, looking at the render. I think this is due either to low-poliness or to roll-off color being dark.

Update - I have set up legs skeleton. No skin binding yet though.

Question: How do I select a BindPose - I need to detach skin, and it does not allow me to. I cannot go from joint to BindPose b/c joint is constrained...

an excerpt from my book user added image (sorry, shameless plug)

"Go to Modify > Evaluate Nodes > Ignore All. This will block all IK handles, constraints, etc. that prevent the bind pose from being achieved."

Once you're back at the bind pose:

"...go to Modify > Evaluate Nodes > Evaluate All. This will reactivate the constraints and IK handles."
