This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Hmm Due to a suggestion from a friend I have decided to try snarl wrinkles. I am not sure which one I like better to be honest. I also did a little test render to get an idea of how the geezah might look in mean black.

Suggestions/opinions?

The sinister sleekness of the black is appealing. The chrome is good, but not as striking, imho.

love your friend's idea - snarl is awesome !

Hey thanks for the feed back and I have been busy so I have not been able to spend as much time on this as I have wanted too. Should be updating every few days now.
Ok here are the ears modeled. Once again, excuse the seams bec I will be joining the model together at the end once I have mapped the uvs.
Cool

I like it, maybe try some sort of nose cavity in a similar shape as the ear, I think it would fit in welluser added image

Surfer,

Do you own a dog? I own a bull mastiff, and have seen him snarl, growl, etc. zillions of times. You know how their skin curls and "whoofs/poofs" up around the teeth - it isn't even, it is symentrical, but not even. I'm not professing to be an expert, however, I do specialize in animals in my 2d work, and do alot of felines. Snarl's a specialty - unless you are going for total metalic / robotic look, uplift around the canines with a bit of scrunching between the eyes would make it look a bit more vicious. As she is right now, the snarl is there, but not the anger/emotion ? Don't know if the explanation makes sense, it's just mho.

Hey guys! thanks for the awesome feedback and all comments are duly noted!

Dae
Yeah I think it needs a nose cavity as well. I will work on that...

t3logy
No I dont have any pets (to my dismay) but I think I know what you are getting at regarding the snarl. It does need more intensity, Droid - Robot or whatever.

I am starting to get a bit bogged down so I have moved on past the head and I will come back to revisit it once I have the basics of the body all sorted out.

The latest development...

I think that quite a bit of the detail needs refining but I will create the rest of the body before I go back.

Ta!

Ha ha! You're Nuts Dae! How is your work going??

I have not had much time to work on this properly over the last few days and I am rushing to get all of the proportions etc right before I go back and tidy bung geometry and details.

I finished the base of the front leg tonight minus the foot (more detail to come on it - refer concept sketch). I was then so excited that I copied it and messed around with it to see how it would look on the back. So excuse the back leg because that is a fakey. I will post the real one soon.
