Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

I will get this all done at some point.
Here is tetsuo so far. I now have shave and haircut so the hair should be a lot easier now. Still needs some work though as I need to clump the hair into points. The cape is not right either and will need work.
Still not sure about his face and if anyone can give any points on things that look off don't hesitate to let me know.

Cheers leon

Hey leonlabyk, this is looking very cool mate - I am always pleased when I see that this project is still on.

I actually think that you are doing a pretty good job at getting the models to look like the anime. It's been a while since I last saw Akira, but I can definitely see a resemblance to Kaneda and Tetsuo (it might even be cool to make a version of Tetsuo with his crazy deformed arm).

At the moment I think the main thing that stand out for me on Tetsuo are his eyes which just look a little wide. Also, he needs some hair on his temples, though obviously you are still working on his hair.

Keep at it mate. user added image

Cheers Aran, glad to hear you like it. I like the idea of having a version with his arm going nuts but will have to see how things pan out. You are certainly right about the eyes and i'll get back on it after the festive period.
I am Glad to see you got your laptop back and is great to see your wip with the girl model is still on.

Cheers for the crits

yeah i kind of messed up when I was 1st working on the heads. I really did'nt have any idea what I was doing and soon after realised it was a bad idea to have such a massive poly count. lol what a dumb ass I am. Oh well since I now have a some idea of how to work in 3d the models are of a much lower polycount to the relief of my computer.
They are all around 5113 polys and this is the wire of kaneda which is now much more respectable.

wow i like this jacket alot.. though the only crit i have is the shoulder part seems to be abit big dont you think? also to create more of that jumper feel you could add alot of creases, it will help alot...

cheers, marlon

I think the Jacket is looking right now. Just got to add all the creases, buckles and pockets and then onto the boots.

Since Kaneda's bike was my 1st attempt at 3d modelling I have gone back and re-worked it since I now have more of an idea of what I am doing. Still a lot to be done though
