Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Hi all

have some problems with the uv mapping. This is the first time i UV map....and it's really time consuming at the moment.
Yesterday i finished the uv mapping and took a snapshot from the House part...but there was something wrong....some uv's are not nice and clean...so my texture was going off target.

Searching for the uv's which causing the problem today.

I hope i can show you some updates in the next days.

Hey Galadiel - how is it in Germany? Great work on the haunted house so far - it's looking very cool!

I haven't done Kurt's tutorial so I am not sure how he maps the UVs, but you usually have to spend quite a bit of time rearranging them in the UV texture editor before you take a snapshot. It can be a bit time consuming, but once you start texturing, you will see how it works.

Looking forward to seeing some more progress.

Uv's can be very time cunsuming... I rember when i was first learning they took me the longest to get figured out.

Hi

it's a rainy day here in Germany and cold too

Thank you for all your answers. I must become familiar with the UV layout first. It's the first time for me. I have rearranged them within a couple of hours. The whole process took me 20 hours or so. (i hope that was correct english now ;o)

Here some of my UV's

the uv's on the mini_house and the uv's in the editor.

I think they are clean enough now for the snapshot.
I will make the big_house Part tomorrow.
