ived always wanted to create a boat but seemed like it would be too hard for my experience. your boat looks cool atm.

lol at the black spot, my first time i was using maya and doing the dog tutorial by kurt, i had the black spot about 5 times so what did i do? start it again everytime it came up, then i relised later on i just had to convert to polygon to get rid of it user added image

dam thats a shame, hopefully youll get it all working again and i will see more updates... goodluck my friend,
