Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I'll let David know you are the winner and we'll see about that prize. Thanks for all of your participation and extreme patience in this matter.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support.

DrRobotnik: My goal is to work for Pixar and so I am trying to make my work reflect that type of work. This was the first time I didnt use global illumination for a project and I wanted to see how much control over the environments color palette I would have with simple spot lights.

Cheers

Your definately a step closer to Pixar with your well deserved win. I thought the lighting matched the mood of the lady waiting very nicely.

BTW, what ever happened to that Earth-Worm Jim model you made for the Sept/Oct challenge of 05. I would really like to see that one finnished and animated. Might be a really good piece to add to a portfollio for Pixar to take a gander at.

I have been looking at different things to complete a proper demo reel.

I wouldn't mind getting a job at any of the other studios as well. Blur studios posted a job for a character modeler, that I was looking at, since that is what I want to do. They have four requirements of things they want you to be able to model, texture, rig, and create facial phonemes.

Realistic Human Character, Creature, Cartoon Character, and Robots.

Couple of the things I was lacking were:

Good understanding of anatomy (working on that one)
Paint HiRes Textures
Create Hair

Im starting a new project on the side now to keep me in Maya, while Im studying anatomy traditionally. I will start a WIP thread.

Sorry for the longwinded post.

Oh thats right earthworm jim, I will go back and finish him, along with other projects I have started.

They will also be done as WIP.

Cheers
