Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Here's some more progress. Still much work to do but right now I'm focusing on the lower half. Not sure if I want two separte legs or one solid piece. Either way, I'm going to make slots so that you can see all kinds of gears and shafts inside.
I'll post some wires but it will have to wait a few days. I'm leaving immediately after work today for a weekend retreat. I'll post them Monday night (04/02/07). Have a great weekend everyone.
Looks like several others are doing a train or something similar so I'm thinking that I'll do something different instead. I'm open for suggestions if anybody has any (It can't be anything complicated though).
I've decided to go for it. I'm going to attempt to create a steampunk arena for robot battles, competitions, etc. Here's what I've done this evening. I plan on creating some simple robots and make a crowd by duplicating them. I'll probably only have two robots in the arena. As always crits welcome.
I am not sure an arena is needed but of course it will give your robot a nice setting.
A great start on the arena btw.
I really like this robot, it has so much character and deserves an animation at some future date
