When it comes to best, i say macOS takes the cake, it is by far the most modern OS. (not mature like unix, but modern).

But sadly i dont have the cash for a mac, so i find myself using a PC with linux...a very good alternative.

Linux (redhat user added image) is the next "best" thing for 3d work! user added image

A funny little story:
I was recently working on a big project for school, but then my harddrive died (lost my linux install + work)! So i figure ill try win2k quick and install maya there and give it a shot...but man i can REALLY tell the differance! Linux is FAR more stable, and i can run almost as many windows open at once as i want...IE almost has a heart attack at 8! Once i get my new HD in the mail ill be re-installing everyones favorite pinguin OS user added image
