This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

i always wondered this for hard surface things... if thing can be imported to a game engine without being a single mesh

if you combine though you'd end up with a lot more polys to worry about wouldn't you?

just want to say good luck with the application, I got turned down by them this week for the character artist position. I had pretty much everything they wanted on the sheet apart from Mel, I guess Im just not good enough....I asked them why but have had no reply...


Im only up the road from them like you as well...I so wanted to be closer to home in that respect...

Arr man sorry to hear that - starting to panic a bit now after hearing that.

Well at least I could always use it for other job apps aswell

I have no idea when it comes to mel aswell

Right finally got the first part uv mapped - the upper level minus the door.

I`m thinking 4 texture maps at the moment but we will have to wait and see

Nice UV mapping. I imagine it's not that hard but probably annoying anyway user added image

Nice spot there BennyK one of the maps had slipped out of place - and yes very annoying - I hate this part of 3D the most.

Dock done as well - might paint this texture twice as alot of the wood is duplicated. - Have to wait and see how it goes ,,,

UV done - for now - still nee dto add afew details here and there but will do that after I texture these first - right off to photoshop.
