This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Yes, I agree that looks better.

The reference image seemed to have soft inner edges and the actual slots looked very soft. The more I hardened edge the better I thought it looked.

Good job, nice texture and lighting. Is that a procedural texture or did you unwrap and paint it?

Here try this it's an obj export. I could not find anything in maya to save to an old maya version in .ma or .mb form.
