Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

cool glad you like them.
yeah the break down might be interesting for some people here. The VES was for outstanding animated commercial or something like that. pretty cool.

i'm surprised that no one seems interested in the breakdown or has any questions about how any of this was made. user added image

I'd be willing to answer any questions people might have about any of this or the workflow or whatever. I don't want to come across as a loser, just owe a lot to simplymaya and wanted to share. user added image

cheers

Man you are NOT coming across as a loser mate...no way. I would be interested dom but didnt ask simply because most of it would go over my little brain... LOL...unless of course you can put it in laymans terms...

cheers bullet

The breakdown was amazing.. really liked the way they've done the duck putting its head under water.
One thing I did notice was the amount of render passes it takes, and thats before breaking the model down... (no chance of my PC rendering that amount before forever..lol)
If you dont mind me asking how long have you been with MCP, and the almighty question... how did you get the job..? (i.e. showreel/just applied/done a course etc.)

hey sorry i missed this reply. I've been at MPC for just over 2 years. I learned 3D in late 2008. I went to Escape Studios. I had done a fine art degree previously. Got a job as a runner a few weeks after I finished at escape ( jan '09) and worked my way into 3D from there.

Great shading there man ( I have been fiddling with renderman myself as well user added image ), the only thing that seems off is the lipsynce there is something wrong with it not hitting the phonemes or maybe to subtle at a larger distance from camera ( in close ups it does work okay).
Edit:
At a second glance I think the audio is out of sync with the lipsynce ( or viceversa whatever you prefer user added image )
