This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.
Am always wary of posting critique as i have no reference in front of me and im sure you do, but his feet look quite small? The toes are there but they seem large compared to rest of the foot. I wonder if the legs arent too thin/straight also?
use this as a guide, look how the face isnt smooth despite fur. There are lots of undulations because of the skull defining the shadow shapes. These are absolutely imperitive if you wanna get it right, also just for arguements sake have a look at an Alsation. These are probably the closest to a wolf in terms of shape. the shorter hair on the dog will give you an idea of the skull shape, but also look for a wolf skull online
Finally had a chance to do some more work on this. Thanks for your thoughts on this guys and big thanks for the advice Jay much appreciated. I am trying to get more definition into the face shape and think things are starting to look better.
Gonna come back to the wolf as I am gonna make a start on the Vue scene. The area I am going to be recreating is known as the lower falls. Have a load of ref images but here is one of them.
I then project the image onto a poly plane that has been subdivided to a poly count of 1.5 mil. I then zoom out and use the layer brush with a value of 12 which sculpts out the terrain. I will now use this as a reference to sculpt out the terrain so it roughly matches my ref images. I will have to wait an hour before I can begin sculpting though as my wacom is at work but will post and update later today.
