Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

I believe the robot companion in Moon was all CG though.

Good CG will never make a poor movie any better, and in the same way the dated practical effects don't enjoy my enjoyment of Robocop at all - it's got a great script, direction and acting (though pitched a bit high for some tastes maybe).

Yeah moon was miniatures...but still done by Cinesite believe it or not.

Although I work in CG, I totally agree with G-Man its a dying artform. Maybe we should have a miniatures section here on the site too...could be usefull for references

To be honest, Im not a fan, Im not a fan of the Paul Verhoven style... it never was even first time round...it never hit the spot.

I guess Verhoven's style just doesn't appeal to everyone, nothing wrong with that at all. You really have to be a fan of his "over the top gore", and dark humor to enjoy his film making style. Showgirls and Hollow man are his weakest fillms in my opinion. To bad he doesn't make american movies anymore. I wonder what he could do with current technology if he was still making american films.
