i will eventually get around to the tire treads, as for the day or night scene... probably both (it will need to be fairly dark in order for the lights to really shine). yeah <chuckle>.. "lit up like a christmas tree" is just an 'ol country expression meaning i will be putting alot of park lights on this thing. i anticipate it looking "pert near good". I'm from WV. what can I say?
Are you going to dirty it up some? That's showroom clean right there. Plus you could try out the car paint shader, to me, it looks a lot more convincing than MR's so called metallic shader. Unless you're not done modeling then I wouldn't worry about any of that yet.
I don't know if i'll get it dirty or not. I had no idea that I would even take it this far so it's hard to say how far it will go... know what i mean? i love experimenting with new things in maya... it just seems that the possibilities are quite endless. i can't wait to see how this turns out... thanks for your feedback.
Matt ... this is really nice. It needs chew tobacco spit on the driver's side and a LOT more lights. You know ... trailer trash stuff. If you could add some puffy handcuffs on the rearview mirror that would be too sweet!
OK, so here are some lights on this bad boy. It is still a long way from completion but I just wanted to see what it would look like lit up a bit. I haven't tried to play around with the headlights yet but will get to them soon...
got the headlights finally. the spotlight decay regions are a little tricky. took me a minute to get it this far. i think it looks ok so i might actually finish modeling this truck. it's been on the back burner too long.
