If you are going down that route you need to convert to polys and change the mesh output see link................dave

Well, so far I've got to this point.
And yeah that part sounds good, so i can apply the water refraction and such.

Nah, still cannot obtain calm water with straight lines... and for some reason the liquid always settles in the corners as a round shape...
I think I'd be better off modeling a mesh out of that cube and rounding the corners so that it almost blends in with the corners but isn't exactly a rectangle...

And then it went crazy.

Trying a different method. This one seems to be giving the best results.
I've divided the glass, then selected the parts which supposedly are covered in water. Then, I've applied my water shader to those faces.
Now I think that I only need to make the parts where the glass sheets touch a darker green to prevent the annoying refraction that breaks the dark-green corners and it should stand out like a glass aquarium.
The surface is another glass sheet with water shader.

Pretty long waiting time to render with shadows. Took 5 minutes...
Seems like I'll have to check what I can change to save render times.
I still don't know how to do the proper edges that look darker, without adding extra pieces.
