Complex UV Layout in Maya

Hi hobden
using Maya Vray
Rightnow I am using two rect Light from two windows, one light for laptop, one(rect light)fill for wooden shelf part
and one light coming from other room.
here is the screen shot.

In this scene I want to go for a dramatic vintage look for the vintage look i am trying color correction in after effects but rightnow I need to work more on lighitng part I think I am also planing to switch in the lamp lights and turn off the light that coming from other room.

suggestions are welcome.

Ah....so this is vray.
I have been using vray in max recently but not used it in maya.
I think it looks nice. Agree I think with one of the comments up top about the background out the window.
But I like it overall.

No hdri here?

No i am not using HDRI but using Gi Bounces in Two Rect light from window. I made a seprate pass for window light source..user added image

may be I will model the outside part if i got sometime or work with the image rightnow i am working on this project after office user added image

hello everyone

here is another update i have changed the lighting and still finding the mood i want there are some noise in the lights and will put in some details in texture and shaders.It will be great if somebody could help me with some dramatic lighting color grades or references.

still alive

Hello everyone..

Finally after working on this for so long this piece is close to end Still I am working on the final touchups in all departments.
Its a piece in which i have tested my patience.Most of the time as when i work on something for too long i got bored but it wasn't a case with this one. Still working on lighting in improving the darker areas.

Real nice work there mate. So many great details and some real nice textures/shaders.

I still have just the one problem with the image and that's the background plate out side the window vs the lighting coming in to the room - The sunlight coming into the room is conflicting with the background image - totally different directions.

Guys i have an issue here is the screen shot

image below the red underline part is with black patches and i don't know to solve this issue i am rendering in vray maya . The texture is clean wood but after renders the result is like this.

Sorry, no solutions from me for the above issue.

But .....love this Dushyant, nice going mate....

There are several objects whose material looks a bit too plasticy/clean for me, but I really like it overall....

with the background image I think you may just get away with flipping the image, failing that you could just use a sky or a different image.

As regards to the dark spots on the draws - it looks like its a reflection of the box on the ground (going by the prev image as you made it hard to see in the image).
Do some test renders with the box there and with the desk by itself to nail it down where the problem has come from. If it is the reflection you could just turn it down. - Or you could just use light linking and add a light just to effect that area -but I am not the greatest with V-Ray but I am sure that option still works.

Just some ideas for you. Again great work.
