Why don't you create a splashpage that either gives the user a choice between Mac or MS versions, or have it run JS to autodetect the OS and automatically transfers the user to Mac or MS page.

Because that defeats the purpose of cross-platform code.
Not to mention the purpose of the W3C.

It takes WAAAYY to long to code even a simple site for more than one browser, (we used to have to do that back in the day), let alone all the platforms.

...just imagine if Dave had to code SM like thatuser added image hehe...

The entire point of FLASH along with amazing things that just cant be done with DHTML, Java Script, ect. Is that FLASH is universal to all browsers which support FLASH at all. Unlike Java Script, where most browsers are equipted with Java Script, but cant work some of them proporly or at all.

Rage>>>>

On your web site (https://www.ragecgi.com/newFlash.html)
the animation at the start when all the elements shake a bit, enlarge, open up, the four 90° brackets move from the centre to the sides etc...
Did you do that with standard tweening or did you use some scripting? Can you give some more info :-Y

Is it far too basic to ask for some hints and tips on creating a decent looking website for personal use from scratch? Regret I am really backward in this sort of stuff and you may want to aim a little higher than me 8).

Take a look here mate. Adobe´s SVG Zone

I reckon it will take some time ... but this thing is the future.
Not SWF. (or so I believe)
