Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Cool stuff, man. user added image I forget, does he have an interior mouth? I think it'd be cool to have a few subtle varient colors in there... like maybe some red along the skin that folds around the eye and mouth, maybe some hints of blue under the eyes and a few other areas... stuff like that.

Would look nice with some specularity on the jewelry.

otaku, I model using pretty much everything I start off with nurbs, then convert to polys then sub-ds to pull and push detail.

I dont use proxy mode just coverting back and forth from sub-d to polys.

All the texturing for him are texture maps made in photoshop.

If i have a few free seconds i'll post some up.

Looking good.

Sorry about the job, that's bad news (but good news knowing you did well), but I'm sure with your talent you are going to be finding one as good or better soon.

I think one of the main things I have trouble with is your bump map... it just seems as if the little wrinkle things are just flowing over the face without any sense of reason behind the flow of the skin. Wrinkles generally form around creases... wrinkles around the eyes and mouth from years of smiling or frowning or whatever.

That's how it seems to me, anyway.

I see what your saying Mike i do have the lines in the bump following the contors of his face... But then a added a few cross wise to have look like the dino skin i did.

I'll play with it some more....

Thanks buddy
