In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Man..I gotta admit, if I dont finish a model in a day, the next day new ideas come and I start modeling something new..

Im getting tired of the desert guy concept..I have new ideas on how I want him to look so heres just what I got him up to, some parts are still crap but its ok...Doom3 and Quake4 have been influencing the stuff ive been modeling lately (test projects for my self)..but here ya go:

I changed the top of the turban, so its more like the concept and ughh, added crappy neck, weird clothing, and water bottle and stuff..anyway, i should sketch my vision for what i want him to look before it goes away..later all

Cool!
I'd beef up his upper body a bit, as in the sketches.

My friend, keep proportions in mind, the human automatically detects when a certain figure isn't in its right proportions. at the moment just worry about shaping i up the way you want to then you go into proportions. Just a tip from your old pal. When you get to nurbs modeling you won't have as much freedom. Then again I haven't modeled a poly character so I'll get to it after a while. First I need to master patch modeling which is a very technical task.

Proportions need to be right in respect to the characters head. Everything needs to look appealing to an audience because the human eye and our brain functions can tell patterns apart, shape and size. It might not sound relevant enough to mention proportions when dealing with a character like that but before you get into exxageration you must know the rules before you break them. Things like this are overseen by many people but they need to kept in mind while modeling.

That was not a good response, orgeeizm. Jflores was making a valid point. If you do not want crits, make sure you say so.
