This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
yeah definatley it just looks a little stark right now if you see what I mean. Maybe create some trees and scatter them to create a whole forest. Doesn't have to be detailed (And I have a really cool way of creating leaves and everything on trees which should be perfect for low detail background trees (Again using a scatter))
Thing is, he´s not creating a scene for the mechs .. but somewhat of a Diorama concept. Just like sculpting a scene for your models at home. That´s why his scene doesn´t involve that much foreign objects (since the idea is to keep the mech contrasted and as the center of attention always).
**edit**: Check this link here to better understand the concept.
Howdy. Well I'm in Kansas drinkin' some wine and doin' some 3D. Got a little update on my grasshopper.
Just wanted to compliment everyone on this months great competition.
Undseth, your model is great, love the clean build that's going on there
Bulletproof - awesome skill showing. Your modeling and texturing ability are freakin' amazing
El-Newty - love the concept on you're wings, it really fits the profile of "mecca inspired by insect" by combing the two so seamlessly
Vizion- Great form in your model, can't wait to see some detail and finishing touches.
Oh, and another thing...
RayRay that mech has a really "catchy" design. If I am allowed to put a finger on something, I'd feel that it's legs are a bit thin, compared to its joints. And that view angle in you last pic rules!
