Hi, here are my models textured… user added image (it’s not what I expected, but it’s ok for now).
Like I said texturing is not my strong part…
So for a newbie I think it’s a start user added image
Maybe I will change a bit the texture, but now I want to make the final scene were all units will be.
I will try to make an invasion picture.
Here is my DF-001 unit… user added image

Cool texturing el_newty.

Remember to stick to the competition submission´s guidelines. Since I´ve posted them too much already I won´t do it again. However they´re at page 24.

Please modify your entry accordingly.

Added a small controller window on gun turret.

Texturing is under way.

Still a few minor bits to play with.

i know i have not found any time for maya in last days, but i am working on it (hopefully). i remember something that it should be maya only. what about the render? can this be done in mental ray? at least mr is so perfectly inside maya, that it is almost like a part of maya user added image

but adl, if you think it should be done with maya renderer, i need to think how to simulate the caustics on the ant with maya render - and i need to add real texture (richt now all structure comes from environment with gi and caustics user added image ) and other color to different parts has to be added ...

No problem at all, MR can be used for rendering.

By the way, Garry1953, great piece!

ok good. another thing: what resolution is to be aimed for the final render? i know i need be in 600x440 format, but a lot of detail gets lost if i render at that low resolution - can the final render be more than one picture with some details blown up ??

100%

Pheu, finally done with all of the modeling.

I must admit the modeling phase has been a lag in this project, due to non-existing sketches of details. So, next time I'll be blessed with some more consept drawings prior to the actual 3d modeling.

I'll deliver one final pic of the whole diorama for this competition, although many details will perhaps go unnoticed. Detailed pics will have to go to the gallery.
