Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Actually, that sounds cool. You could do it in sort of a roll bar type fashion, so it serves a dual purpose.

Hey Yoda,

This little job is coming together real nice (and fast!).

Can I request a render of all 4 orthogonal views (top, side, front and back). That would help me get my head around the proportions.

Good work M8!

Thanks for them views Yoda. Some awesome detail going on there. user added image

Sorry, I'm no real help with texturing (everything I texture looks quite average). Might need to Google around for a few tutorials user added image

But I woudn't worry M8, if you manage to texture only half as good as you model - it will turn out great!

Keep at it and post often.....

The model definitely looks awesome! That roll bar really added the extra oomph it needed. The texturing looks like it's going pretty good, too. But, I think it'd look better in like an olive drab color, or something muted out, so it isn't so shiny. Just an idea, though.

Roll bars can be included in the windscreen's sides and top (as they are in some cabrio cars (Audi tt for example) with the back roll cage thre so that you dont knock ya head if it rolls! (again if you look at the tt it has two loops behind the driverand the passinger to sopt you banging your head!

Nice work masteryoda! This is looking very good. I like all the little details and all of the different elements are working well together.

I definitely agree that you should try a different color. as erictacti said, an olive green would work well. The blue is just a little too 'nursery' colored if you know what I mean.

good work!
